    - Birds singing loudly, and

    - Herons taking wing in slow motion, and

    - Gator swimming lazily along the banks, and

    - Lone solo fisherman, drifting slowly, soon to be joined by

    - Two more fisherpeople, more boisterous and loud, these two. 

    - Storytelling later…

    - In the hottub 

       - alongside 2 little boys, wide-eyed with thoughts of gators and fish and herons— oh my!

Beginnings 2023

 

A reconsideration (and light edit) of a past post (2011)

My reflections have been not so much resolutions (as in, "I resolve to ___" ), for history reveals my powerlessness to keep such promises on my own. 

Rather, my musings are more aspirations (as in, "I aim to ___ "), for it seems that, more than resolute drive, i need gentle intention that may be reset --- or even re-oriented daily.

That said, I aim to:

Be Fully Present in Today... not shame/regret/guilt of yesterday, nor fears/expectations/projections of tomorrow... simply right here, right now. 

Answer the Knock at my door, inviting in the Ones Who desire to be with me here and now— Emmanuel-El. 

Live with sensitive awareness and acceptance of habitat (including people, places, and things) and body (both individual and corporate) ... more greenly and serenely, if you will.

Resign from Debate ... Particularly, I aim to Live and Let Live.  WithIn Discussions, yes absolutely, acknowledging that Disagreement is certain to present, at times— but Debate? That argumentative form whose chief aim is proving wrong-ness in anOther?  No, I have no desire for such contentious disputation as I don’t like how I feel nor who I am within that context.   (*Disclaimer: I may, as a function of #1, occasionally slip slide into “self” righteous indulgence 🙃).

Finally, continue those intentions set in years past: Be-Loved, Believe, LiveTrue+LoveAlways

To these, I can honestly and whole-heartedly sign my LifeSong in 2011 2023.

Blessed (happy) are those who mourn, for... Comfort is theirs.

Blessed (happy) are the meek (humble, gentle), for... The earth's inheritance is theirs.

Blessed (happy) are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for… Filling is theirs.

Blessed (happy) are the merciful, for... Mercy is theirs.

Blessed (happy) are the heart-pure, for... Visions of God are theirs.

Blessed (happy) are the peacemakers, for… children of TheLivingGod are they.

Blessed (happy) are the unjustly persecuted, for... The kingdom of heaven is theirs.

Reflection on the blessedness (happiness) of inside-out-upside-down KingdomLiving brings to mind a truism spoken in the halls of recovery --- Blessed (Happy) are those who want what they have, more than those who have what they want.

May we all be richly blessed (happy) in this coming year.
